We first met Salina when she approached us to do some anodising on a project for an exhibition in Barcelona. Having seen the quality of the work she undertook, we commissioned a piece to hang in our newly completed reception area. A piece of art made of anodised aluminium was obviously ideal for ourselves and has been a source of pleasure for staff, customers and visitors over the years.

Artist Salina Somalya was selected by a group of NHS staff and arts professionals during a partnership project at Teddington Health and Social Care Centre. At all stages of the project, from design brief to final installation, Salina was consistently professional, reliable and a pleasure to work with. Her approach to the project was dynamic and refreshing and the final artwork stunning and continues to be a pleasure to users of the NHS centre.
During the process she re-jigged the designs at least two times on our request and produced images of the work in-situ, which were very helpful for my clients. She provided a thorough description of how she made the work and the materials used, so I could accurately explain her approach to the clients. The final pieces worked harmoniously with the space and use images of the local wildlife to produce metalwork that was contemporary, fresh and well-made.
Salina is an artist you can rely on. She delivers as agreed in a manner appropriate to the people with whom she works. Her workshops are engaging and fun and the beautiful art work produced always amazes those who contributed.
